This easy recipe for a non alcoholic pina colada mocktail is dairy free and delicious! The virgin colada smoothie gets its tropical flavor from pineapple and coconut milk. This healthy drink uses frozen fruit and is super creamy.

a ball canning jar of pina colada mocktail with a clear glass straw in it.

A frozen pina colada always makes me think of summer. The cool and creamy mixture of pineapple and coconut is such a refreshing mix. This nonalcoholic version has all the flavor without the booze.

How to Make a Pina Colada Mocktail

This is such a simple drink to make! In a blender add the frozen pineapple chunks, coconut cream, pineapple juice, coconut milk and sea salt. Blend until combined and creamy. Serve immediately.

Note: This smoothie doesn't last well in the refrigerator for later. If you want to prepare ahead of time I would put the coconut cream, pineapple juice, coconut milk and salt into a sealed jar in your fridge so you can simply pour that into your blender and add the frozen pineapple chunks.

What replaces alcohol in a mocktail?

In this pina colada mocktail the tart and sweet pineapple juice along with the little pinch of salt gives the mocktail a bit of a kick. It is not exactly the same as rum or another alcohol you might add to a drink but it's still delicious.

    Top Tips

It is important to use canned coconut cream for this recipe. The mocktail will not have the same flavor or texture without the coconut cream. Simply open the can and spoon out the coconut cream into a measuring cup, then pour the milk into another measuring cup.

You will have extra coconut cream and milk leftover that's perfect in coffee, to make a smoothie or to simply make another pina colada mocktail.

What does virgin pina colada mean?

A virgin drink means there is not any alcohol in the drink. This pina colada mocktail is a virgin drink that is made without any booze. Virgin drinks or mocktails are perfect for kids or anyone who doesn't want to consume alcohol.
