I am a third generation farm girl living in the Pacific Northwest, making a life on a small farm where I garden, gather fresh eggs, and take long walks with our dogs. Welcome to Small Farm Big Life, where gluten free living is delicious, approachable, and made with ingredients you can actually find.
Around age 30 I learned I have Hashimoto's Disease, celiac disease, and rosacea. It took seven doctors and almost five years to figure out why my health was declining. I finally found an incredible naturopath who helped me turn my life around through a gluten free and soy free lifestyle, and that experience changed everything about how I cook, eat, and live.
In February 2018 I left my corporate job of eighteen years to live a simpler, more intentional life. I knew a year in advance that I wanted to leave, so I spent that year paying off bills, cutting back, and simplifying. What I discovered was that we did not need most of what we had. Getting rid of the excess was one of the most freeing things I have ever done.
With that newfound freedom I started cooking and baking more than ever, and Small Farm Big Life was born. I publish new gluten free recipes every week covering everything from easy weeknight dinners and summer salads to baked goods, desserts, and sourdough bread. Everything here is made with simple, accessible ingredients because I live rurally and I know that not everyone can get specialty ingredients without a long drive.
Whether you are newly gluten free, cooking for someone who is, or just looking for delicious recipes the whole family will love, I am so glad you are here.
