Description

This recipe for low carb hot cocoa mix is perfect for a hot drink that is keto friendly. This homemade hot chocolate is made with almond milk, whipping cream and cocoa powder.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups Almond Milk
1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
3 Tbsp. Pyure Granular Sweetener
3 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder
1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Sea Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

Optional:
2 squares Lindt 85% Dark Chocolate Bar

Instructions

In a saucepan on your stovetop over medium low heat add the almond milk, heavy whipping cream, sweetener, cocoa powder, cinnamon, salt and dark chocolate squares stirring until all ingredients are mixed together and chocolate is melted.

Using a lower heat and warming the mixture slowly will help it to not burn on the bottom. Stir the mixture occasionally to keep it from sticking to your pan while it reaches your desired temperature.

Serve hot in mugs.

Notes

This hot cocoa is very rich and creamy. If it's too rich you can add 1/2 cup of almond milk.

It's optional to add a bit of 85% dark chocolate bar on the top of your beverage.
