A gluten free classic tater tot casserole is the ultimate comfort food! It combines hearty ground beef with a rich, cheesy layer and crispy golden tots on top. This easy tater tot casserole skips the cream soup for a more homemade touch while still delivering that creamy, satisfying flavor everyone loves.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 medium Yellow Onion
- 2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 10 ounce bag Frozen Mushrooms
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 Tbsp Dried Parsley
- 1 tsp Dried Sage
- 1/2 tsp Coarse Ground Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 8 ounces Cream Cheese
- 2 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1 - 32 ounce bag Frozen Tater Tots
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
In a large skillet frying pan over medium heat cook the beef, onion and garlic until no pink remains, about 8-10 minutes. Add the frozen mushrooms and heat them until they are defrosted.
Add the salt, parsley, sage, pepper, oregano, worcestershire sauce, sour cream and cream cheese to the pan and stir together. Break up the cream cheese and keep stirring until it is completely mixed in.
Pour the mixture into a 9x13 baking dish. Top with the shredded cheddar cheese and then an even layer of frozen tater tots.
Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes until the sauce is bubbling and the tater tots are browned.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
