The apples are ripe on our trees so now is the perfect time to make gluten free apple crisp. I like to mix a couple of different types of apples so that I get some super sweet apples that cook down and some tart apples that hold their shape.
If you are using store bought apples you can do the same thing by purchasing a couple of green apples and then whatever sweet apples are available.
My preferred way of eating any type of gluten free crisp is warm with vanilla ice cream. There is truly nothing like the flavor of the apple crisp mixed with slightly melted ice cream. Yum!
I love to serve apple crisp as a dessert (and I have already a few times this summer) or eat it for breakfast with a cup of coffee. Either way you can’t go wrong.Print
